Adele has so many new lyrics her next record could be released this year. The British singer and her partner Simon Konecki welcomed their son into the world in October last year and since then she has retreated from the limelight. Having previously said she was planning some time off to focus on her relationship and baby, it now seems Adele has the singing bug again. She has apparently already begun work on her new LP. "Adele is making a start on another album after going off the radar since giving birth. Even though she's been busy enjoying family life with Simon and the baby, she's also been writing during her time off, so arrived at the studio ready to start working hard straight away. Just days after the star was rumoured to be making her live comeback at The Oscars next month, Adele - who has taken a break from her career after giving birth last October - could soon be back doing what she does best. Adele is apparently planning to make her comeback at the Oscars. The Rolling In The Deep singer has been keeping a low profile since she welcomed her first child last year, but it has now been reported that she is set to return to the limelight with a performance at the film awards ceremony in February. Ace Showbiz reports that the star-studded event will include a James Bond tribute, and as Adele sang the latest 007 song, Skyfall, it's thought she might be planning to take part. Adele tops U.S. album charts two years in a row

Adele is on repeat at the top of the charts. The singer's blockbuster 21 was the top-selling album in the U.S. for both 2012 and 2011, according to Nielsen SoundScan, becoming the first album to pull off the repeat since Nielsen started tracking music sales in 1991. It clocked 4.41 million sales in 2012, including both digital and physical sales, after hitting 5.82 million in 2011. Nielsen's latest sales tracking year began on January 2, 2012, and concluded on December 30. The news was reported earlier by Billboard. 2012's runner-up was Taylor Swift, whose Red sold 3.11 million units despite only being released on October 22.
