Adele Marie Bryan
Adele Marie Bryan died peacefully at her home in Estes Park, Sunday morning, July 8, 2012, after a long and courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Pa., she went on to graduate from Kutztown University, Pa., with a B.A. degree in liberal arts/psychology.
Adele, a keen outdoor person and nature lover, succumbed to the call of the West. Falling in love with the Rocky Mountains, she moved to Colorado at an early age. She worked for CGG, an oil exploration company and later came to study at the Boulder School of Massage Therapy and was a massage therapist in the Boulder/Denver area. Adele was hit head-on on the highway by a large delivery truck. After a very difficult four-year recovery, she moved to Estes Park.
Adele appreciated all her friends and the good experiences she shared with them over the years, including hiking and snowshoeing. She also volunteered at the Rocky Mountain National Park greenhouse, sometimes collecting the tiny seeds of the tundra vegetation for propagation at the RMNP greenhouse. Adele enjoyed growing exotic plants in her home and also encouraged and planted native plants, bushes and trees in her yard. Adele enjoyed literature and music of all genres.
She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Helen Louise Fromberg, and is survived by her dear precious friend and life partner, Graham Hodgin, who loved her greatly and will sorely miss her. She is also survived by her sister and close friend, Michele La Monde and her family -- husband Ken and son Michael.
If friends wish, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the National Organization of Women or Planned Parenthood! , in care of Allnutt Funeral Service, 1302 Graves Ave., Estes Park, CO 80517.
