Adele avoids towering heels

Adele is "too nervous" to wear towering high heels.

The British singer is renowned for her vintage dress sense and usually stays away from attention seeking outfits. Her stylist Gaelle Paul, who has worked with Adele since 2009, says she puts a lot of consideration into choosing footwear for the star.

"I could say, 'Look at these amazing shoes,' but if they are 140mm high with platforms of 20mm, Adele would be too nervous wearing them," Gaelle told UK magazine Glamour. "She used to wear a 85mm heel. Now she wears a 90mm heel with a 10 or 20mm platform."

Adele is so particular about her shoes that Christian Louboutin has made a mould of her foot so he has her exact measurements.

Although Adele usually plays it safe when she is attending red carpet events or performing live, Gaelle still believes the 24-year-old has her own distinct sense of style.

"She has a strong style - her hair and make-up are really strong - but in an odd way, she stands out by not trying to stand out," she explained.
