Adele - Adele 'ready To Murder' While Recording 21

In her forthcoming biography, Adele has revealed that she was "furious" when she recorded her Grammy award-winning album 21. The London-based singer had famously split with a boyfriend, which inspired much of the tear-jerking songs on the album. The track 'Rolling in the Deep' is her favourite example of how she managed to turn that rage into chart-topping success. The Independent have reproduced a segment of the book, which reveals how Adele credits the album's producer Paul Epworth with helping her to transfer her emotions to tape. "I never get angry, but I was ready to murder. I went in crying and stuff, and said, 'Let's write a ballad.' And he was like, 'Absolutely not! I want to write a fierce tune.'" She went on to explain "When I'm about to get angry in my heart, I can really feel my blood flowing around my body... And I kept going, 'Feel my heartbeat Paul!' And the beat of the song was my heartbeat... It just ...

Image
16:04, Wednesday, 28 March 2012 Adele has apparently invited popstar pal Robbie Williams and his wife Ayda to stay at her 7million mansion so they can go ghost-hunting together. Earlier this month, the Rolling In The Deep singer was said to be 'too scared' to spend the night alone at her massive mansion in Sussex, after believing that the pad was haunted. Now, the Daily Star reports that Adele has asked Robbie - who she met at The Brit Awards four years ago - to come and stay with her, after hearing about the Take That star and Ayda's fascination with the supernatural. A source told the tabloid: "Adeles often said she hates staying at home alone in the mansion because shes sure its haunted and she gets spooked. She knows Robbie and Ayda are fascinated by the supernatural and has offered to have them to stay for a haunted weekend any time they like. "Adele thinks they are both fantastic and would love to spend some time sharing ghost stories and witnessing ...

I think she's incredible as a vocalist and in terms of an artist. "The artist that I think really keeps the integrity of the soul in the music - I think she does it. We haven't spoken and I haven't spoken to her people." Usher also told the radio station's Rickie, Melvin and Charlie about the craziest encounter he had had with a fan, saying: "Some people go pretty far with their dedication and their love for me. "And this one fan, she was just taking off all her clothes and she was outside my bus, just chasing the bus and taking her clothes off while she's chasing the bus. I don't know why!" Kiss FM a...

Williams, who is one half of the Grammy Award-winning country duo, grew close to the soul singer while on the road with her last spring. She tells Vogue magazine, "Adele was really supportive of us right from the beginning. It was so good to be able to stand stage-side and watch her perform every night; then becoming friends with her was really the icing on the cake. She's brilliant company." And the 29 year old reveals the pair became such good friends that she and Adele headed to the tattoo parlour to get inked with a symbolic graphic as a reminder of their time together. Bruce Springsteen knocks Adele out of the top spot, but barely

Image
It took the Boss to knock Adeles unstoppable 21 out of the top spot on Billboards Top 200. Bruce Springsteen scored his 10th No. 1 debut with his latest opus, Wrecking Ball, pushing 196,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan, barely nudging the Grammy-winning powerhouse out of her plum position on top. Wrecking Ball is the first disc to knock Adele out of the top spot this year. But 21, which sold an additional 195,000 copies, continues to make music history. As it soared past the 8 million sales mark, it became the first album to do so since Ushers massive-selling Confessions back in 2004. A handful of albums saw a sales surge thanks to Google Musics bargain-basement 25-cent sale last week , including the latest installment in the Now That's What I Call Music! The 41st edition (yes, the years are going by) logged 152,000 copies, with 124,000 of those units coming from digital sales, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Also benefiting from the drastic markdown were Lady Antebellum,...

Adele's Impressive Run At #1: Just The Facts

Adele got so comfortable sitting in the #1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart during the first 10 weeks of 2012 that we started to forget anyone else could knock her off the perch. But after 23 non-consecutive weeks in the pole position dating back to last year and a board-running sprint for every chart week of the year so far, her good thing will come to an end next week when Bruce Springsteen 's Wrecking Ball edges her out of the top position. Sure, she came in at just 1,300 copies below the Boss at #2, and there's a good chance she'll be back in the hunt for #1 in the near future, but with a pause in the action, now is as good a time as any to take another look at her incredible run. Some 21 facts: Her 23 non-consecutive weeks at #1 put Adele just one week short of the chart domination of two classic soundtracks: Prince's Purple Rain and Saturday Night Fever. Though she'll have to start over now, Adele was closing in on another all-time chart record: the most...

Hi Gary, As an avid chart watcher, I am thrilled that among the many impressive feats of Adele 's "21" is that it has dominated the Billboard 200 and three of its singles have topped the Billboard Hot 100. The album, with 23 weeks atop the Billboard 200 so far, has also generated three hits that have helmed the Hot 100 for a combined 14 weeks. Therefore, the disc and its singles have combined to lead Billboard's two most signature charts for a cumulative total of 37 weeks! There are only nine albums that I could find that have topped both charts for a combined total of more than 30 weeks. Adele jibe was horrible - Madonna

Madonna has leapt to the defence of Adele branding fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld's comments about her weight as "horrible". The German fashion guru described the Someone Like You star as "a little too fat" during an interview last month. Madonna told The Sun: "That's horrible. That's ridiculous, that's just the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. "I don't like it when anybody says anything bad about anyone - I don't like it. Adele's a great talent and how much she weighs has nothing to do with it." Madonna also revealed she is "incredibly anxiety ridden" about her tour later this year, but has no plans to quit music. She said: "I love music, I love telling stories. So I guess as long as I feel that way I'll keep doing what I'm doing." Her single, Give Me All Your Luvin', flopped - despite being launched to one of the largest TV audiences in history as she performed it at the US Sup...

Adele 'would have got X Factor axe'

World-conquering star Adele would have been rejected if she had tried to find fame on The X Factor, according to The Script's frontman Danny O'Donoghue. The Irish star - a judge on BBC One's soon-to-launch talent show The Voice - believes Adele would not have succeeded because her look does not fit "the mould". But he reckons she would have had no difficulties on his new Saturday night programme which aims to reward talent rather than image. The Voice auditions contestants without actually seeing them. Curvaceous star Adele has found global fame in the past year, crowned with six Grammys and a double Brit win last month. Fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld drew condemnation recently when he remarked that she was "too fat". O'Donoghue said other talent shows would have failed to give her a chance because she did not look like a conventional pop star. He said: "We need to take the music industry by the scruff of the neck and get it back out of 'ev...

Adele 'told not to tour over vocal injury fears'

The 'Someone Like You' singer was forced to cancel a US jaunt in 2011 due to ill health and underwent microsurgery on her vocal chords in November. Adele made her live comeback at the Grammy Awards in February, where she won six trophies , but doctors have allegedly said that she is still not ready to exert her voice. "The surgery was successful but doctors are still concerned she could damage her golden voice," a source told the Daily Star . "They have given the go-ahead to one-off shows but a full tour has been ruled out for now. "Adele isn't motivated by money, that's the last thing she cares about. She had a serious scare with her voice and is determined to make sure it doesn't happen again." "Simon is an amazing dad and has always spoken about wanting more. He just never realised that it could happen so soon as just this time last year he'd resigned himself to the fact that he'd never be happy and settle down again after the heartbreak of his divorce.
