Weekly Chart Notes: Madonna, One Direction, Adele
'LUVIN' ' AND NOT LEAVIN': As previously reported, Madonna's legend on Billboard's Dance/Club Play Songs chart grows this week, as "Give Me All Your Luvin'," featuring Nicki Minaj and M.I.A., rises 2-1 to become her 41st leader on the list. She pulls further ahead of runner-up Janet Jackson, who's banked 19 toppers.
The coronation adds yet another honor to Madonna's illustrious chart history.
If we include the Material Girl's leading entries on other active, current-based, domestic Billboard charts, her chart-topping total swells to a whopping 151 No. 1s.
Here are Madonna's No. 1 sums on the following lists:
41, Dance/Club Play Songs
33, Hot Dance Singles Sales
15, Hot Singles Sales
12, Billboard Hot 100
9, Radio Songs
9, Music Video Sales
7, Billboard 200
7, Dance/Mix Show Airplay
5, Adult Contemporary
3, Internet Albums
2, Digital Albums
2, Digital Songs
2, Hot Digital Tracks
2, Pop Songs

Mirroring the tempo of so many of her hits, when it comes to topping Billboard charts, Madonna doesn't appear to be slowing down.
She could reign again soon on Dance/Club Play Songs, where "Girl Gone Wild" bounds 46-20 as the chart's Greatest Gainer, indicating potential for the track to become Madonna's 42nd No. 1 on the tally within weeks.
And, Tuesday's (March 26) release of the Material Girl's 12th studio album of new material, "MDNA," could lead to No. 1 arrivals on multiple surveys the following week.
HOT 100 (WEEKS): Need more example's of Adele's continued chart dominance?
To recap, here are some of the records that Adele has already attained:
- "2 1" has spent the most weeks - 23 - at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 for an album by a female artist.
- "21" spent its first 39 weeks on the Billboard 200 in the top five, passing Michael Jackson's "Bad" (38 weeks, 1987-88) for the most consecutive weeks in the top five dating to an album's debut.
- The set's lead single "Rolling in the Deep" appeared on 12 Nielsen BDS-based Billboard airplay charts, making it the most widely crossed-over hit of the past 25 years.
- "Someone Like You" became the first song featuring only vocals and piano accompaniment to top the Hot 100.
- Following her breakout 2011, Adele became the first woman to sweep three of Billboard's signature year-end honors in a single year: top artist, top Billboard 200 album and top Hot 100 song.
Here's another.
On this week's Hot 100, "Deep" spends a 63rd week on the list and "Someone" remains charted for a 37th week, making for an even, and fitting, 100 weeks on the Hot 100 combined for the two former No. 1 songs.
No artist had previously charted two songs concurrently on the Hot 100 whose total chart weeks reached at least 100 weeks.
