Adele on most powerful celebs list
Adele has joined the ranks of the world's most powerful celebrities, making her debut on the Forbes.com Celebrity 100 2012 list.
The 24-year-old Grammy-winning British star was forced to cancel most of her US tour due to issues with her vocal cords, but her album 21 has continued to be a bestseller around the world and she has entered the list at number 24 - after earning an estimated 21.9 million (35 million dollars) in the last year.
American Idol judge and What To Expect When You're Expecting star Jennifer Lopez was named the world's most powerful star, toppling Lady Gaga from her number one spot as the Poker Face singer fell to fifth place.
Media mogul and TV presenter Oprah Winfrey remained in second place, while teen pop sensation Justin Bieber held on to third position, where he debuted last year, thanks to his concerts, music sales and the 3D documentary film Never Say Never.
The X Factor creator Simon Cowell has fallen to 18th in the list, after ranking at ninth place last year.
Other notable newcomers include Rihanna in fourth place, reality TV star Kim Kardashian at number seven and her sister Khloe at number 73.
Ashton Kutcher, who replaced Charlie Sheen on hit TV show Two And A Half Men, made his debut at number 51. Sheen has dropped off the list.
