ADELE escapes attention from fans by venturing out in public in her pyjamas.

The 24-year-old singer has been catapulted into superstardom thanks to the huge success of her second album, 21, which has sold a staggering 21 million copies worldwide since its release last year.

Despite her fame, Adele is desperate to keep her private life out of the public domain, and manages to walk among her fans incognito by donning her pajamas.

"I've managed to stay out of the public eye recently. The other day I walked through (Londons) Trafalgar Square. I was in my pajamas. I had floral tracksuit bottoms on, a green coat and pink pumps. Luckily I had a massive umbrella so no one recognised me," she told Matt Lauer on NBC's Today in the US.

"I dont want to be in peoples faces. I just want to make music."

She also talked about her appearance at the Gra! mmys whe re she won the six awards from six nominations.

"I had three or four pairs of Spanx on that night but I loved it," she said

"I actually had another dress made and I ended up passed out in it, it had a corset and I was like 'I can't wear that' so I ended up wearing this instead."

Lauer than asked Adele if she performed with four pairs of Spanx on.

"I took a couple of pairs off," she said, before bursting out laughing.

When asked if she'd still like to be spoken about in ten years, the shy vocalist insisted she only wanted to sing.

Adele added: "I just want to make music. I mean, I still hope I have a little bit of clout in ten years. But all I've ever wanted to do was sing."
