Adele and Carly Rae Jepsen rule charts

In third place was We Are Young by US indie pop band Fun, up four places from last week.

R&B star John Legend took the number four spot after Ordinary People rose from 27, while Laserlight by Jessie J also climbed significantly, from 26 to 5.

American singer-songwriter Jason Mraz entered the albums chart at number two with Love Is A Four Letter Word.

The record's first single and US Billboard Top 10 hit, I Won't Give Up, is about his break-up from his fiancee, which he said he wrote to help him figure out what was going on in his life.

Pink Friday - Roman Reloaded, the second studio album by Trinidadian-born Nicki Minaj, fell one place down to three.

Controversial artist Lana Del Rey took fourth spot with Born To Die, while Who You Are by Jessie J was number five.
